The future of Jersey's TGI Fridays is uncertain, as it is among 87 branches of the restaurant chain being put up for sale after its operator entered administration.
The company behind TGI Fridays is seeking new buyers for its restaurants, with hopes of completing the sales process by the end of September. However, it's unclear whether a single buyer will take over all 87 locations or if only a portion of them will be sold. For now, the American-style diners will continue to operate as usual. Nationally, the chain employs approximately 4,500 staff.
Currently, TGI Fridays is one of only three hospitality venues still open at the Waterfront Complex, alongside KFC and Cineworld. Other venues, including Pizza Hut, Arcadia, and The Bar, have closed, leaving several large vacant units near the Horizon apartments.
TGI Fridays first launched in New York in 1965, with its UK debut in Birmingham in 1986.
