Redevelopment Plans Unveiled for Jersey Gas Explosion Site

Redevelopment Plans Submitted for Jersey Gas Explosion Site

Plans have been put forward to redevelop part of the site in Jersey where 10 people lost their lives in a gas explosion.

The explosion, which occurred in December 2022 at the Haut du Mont residential block on Pier Road, St Helier, led to the demolition of three blocks of flats.

Andium Homes has now submitted proposals to landscape the area where one of the demolished blocks once stood and adjust some of the parking arrangements.

According to the plans, the site of Block G—the location of the explosion—would be paved and surrounded by bushes. In the long term, a memorial will be created to honour those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
