Jersey has seen a decrease in the number of reported hate crimes, according to the States of Jersey Police.
The force reported a drop from 61 cases in 2019 to 44 in 2023, with 2024 continuing to show a "downward trajectory."
David Turnbull, head of the community policing team, attributed the decline to islanders' commitment to fostering "a safer, more tolerant Jersey." As part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week, the police reiterated that hate crime includes any behavior motivated by hostility, prejudice, or hatred, directed at individuals or their property
