Efforts are underway to establish a new group to support the struggling equestrian sector in Jersey.
The Jersey Horse Association recently met to discuss proposals, highlighting the decline in participation and the potential closure of clubs. Alasdair Crosby of the association stressed the need for urgent action, while Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, said the group could give the sector a stronger voice.
Key issues include planning difficulties for horse shelters, with welfare being a top priority. The group aims to work closely with the government to ensure the sector's survival.
