"Last Chance for 80th Liberation Day Suggestions"

Islanders have until the end of Monday to submit their ideas on how Jersey should commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day.

Liberation Day, celebrated annually on 9 May, marks the island’s freedom from German Occupation during World War Two.

In early October, the bailiff’s consultative panel invited the public to contribute suggestions for the 2025 anniversary celebrations. Bailiff Sir Timothy Le Cocq urged everyone to share their hopes for how the milestone should be honoured both next year and in the future.

Residents can submit their ideas by emailing Liberationday@gov.je.
