A block of flats where 10 people died in a fatal explosion is set to be taken over by Jersey's government.
The explosion happened in the Haut du Mont residential block on Pier Road, St Helier, on 10 December 2022.
The government has published plans to take ownership of the site, which is currently owned by Andium Homes.
It has not been confirmed what the residential block would be used for, but Housing Minister Deputy Sam Mézec previously said plans could include a memorial garden.
Zoe Hibbs, communications lead, Andium Homes, said: "We have been working closely with the bereaved families and displaced residents since the incident, and with the government on the memorial.
"Transferring part of the site into government ownership was a key outcome from the consultation with the bereaved families who wanted assurance that the memorial will be owned by the public in the long term and suitably protected."
She added: "We are transferring the southern part of the site only, at no cost, to the Government of Jersey.
"The 21 homes which remain on the northern part of the site are being retained by Andium.
"Work started last week on a comprehensive refurbishment of these homes, which will be completed later this year, enabling these to be made available for rental to islanders once again."
In the plans, published last Tuesday, the government said it would acquire the site for "nil value".
