Danish company DFDS is conducting a test berthing of its ship, MV Mistral, in Channel Island waters today (15 October).
The 153-metre Ro-Ro cargo vessel arrived in St Peter Port at 8:30 am and is scheduled to depart for Jersey around 10 am. This follows earlier trials with the Seven Sisters and Finlandia ships.
DFDS is one of three companies being considered by the governments of Jersey and Guernsey to take over passenger and freight operations, with an announcement expected soon. Condor Ferries' current agreements with the islands expire in March, and ferry bookings beyond that date remain unavailable.
