DFDS Reverses Decision, Now Allowing Pets to Stay in Cars Overnight

DFDS Reverses Pet Policy on Portsmouth Ferry

DFDS has reversed its decision to ban pets from staying in vehicles during ferry crossings to Portsmouth.

The rule change, introduced last week, initially required pet owners to book a pet-friendly cabin or use the pet lounge. Following discussions with concerned islanders and the Kennel Club of Jersey, DFDS confirmed pets will now be allowed to remain in cars during the journey.

New guidance on pet safety in vehicles will be introduced, and passengers who booked pet cabins but prefer the car option can apply for a refund of the price difference.
